In the Grass, On the Reef
Apalachicola Bay Oyster Reef Survey
Clip: Season 4 | 6m 3s
We follow divers as they study the severity of the Apalachicola Bay oyster fishery crisis.
After the declaration of a fishery disaster, Dr. David Kimbro’s crew begins surveying Apalachicola Bay oyster reefs to get a closer look. They find (and show us through underwater footage) that the bay is heavily depleted. This is the first stage of a new experiment focused on the Apalachicola oyster fishery.
