(intriguing ambient music) (text whirring) (intriguing ambient music) - [Operator] D-10.
- Nine.
- Eight.
- Seven.

(Operator words indistinct) (engine flames rumbling) - Alive.
- Yeah!
(energetic intriguing music) (text whirring) - [Operator] And lift-off.
(rocket engine rumbling) (intriguing music) - Once you see it for real, you think, "Wow, (laughing) that's really cool," you know?
(laughing) It's glimmering, it's beautiful.
It's like you're going to Oz.

"This is her first birthday.
"Maybe I won't be here for her next birthday."
(whispers) I love you, baby.
(baby whimpers) - I rushed to the phone.
I said, "Congratulations, man, you did it!"
It's incredible, from slavery to space in four generations.
(intriguing music) - If we can accomplish what we did with the International Space Station, just think about what we could do together on the Moon or going to Mars.
(intriguing music) (rocket engine rumbling) - I'd put us at the end of the infancy of exploring space.
And with that foundation, we can now take off and become the interplanetary nations.
(rocket engine rumbling) (energetic intriguing music) (Sergei speaks in foreign language) (rocket engine rumbling) - Yes, yes!
- And I'd be happy to end out my days on Mars.
"Born on Earth, died on Mars," wouldn't that be a cool tombstone?
(energetic intriguing music) (soft wind whistling)
