Alicia Salas
Rocklin, CA

I am a 38 year-old female. I have been living with chronic pain now for three years. I was born with a congenital defect; two of my cervical vertebras were fused. According to my doctors, this is what started all of my problems. Now at the age of 38, I suffer from DDD, TMD, chronic headaches and I suspect that I have Fibromalgia, but just like my constant pain doctors do not want to acknowledge it.

Chronic pain has affected my life in a very debilitating manner. I am in pain 24/7. It has taken away my ability to continue my career, take care of my family the way that I would like to. Additionally it is affecting my marriage. I cannot even take my children to see a movie because I cannot sit through the movie because of the pain. I would just like to have some quality back into my life. I have tried several medications as well as physical therapy. There are pain medications that are available, but most doctors are not willing to prescribe them. If they could live just one day in my shoes, I am sure that they would.
