I'm 17, my father is 58, and my mother is 54. My father is the one with the chronic illness. He's been in a wheelchair for as long as I can remember. He has MS, chrohns, diabetes, he had throat cancer, a PE, and CHF. If he weren't a veteran we'd be living in a box. He's been in and out of the hospital all the time. My mother is his main caretaker. She is usually up 7-12 times a night helping him. He has had six blood transfusions within this past year and he keeps losing blood from an unknown reason. He was up to 47 pills a day and now he's down to 34, not including his nitro patch, potassium, b-12 shot and the copaxone shot every day. He slowly went from walking to walking with a cane then refused the walker and into a wheelchair with some ability to walk. He slowly diminished in his walking ability and now is in an electric wheelchair. We are still struggling with the doctors to give us a straight answer on what might happen next.
