Obama/Romney “Artifacts of Character” Discussion – Week 1
September 21, 2012, 11:27 am ET
Behind the campaigns, behind the slogans, who really are Mitt Romney and Barack Obama?
As we lead up to The Choice 2012, FRONTLINE is publishing “The Artifacts of Character,” objects from the candidates lives that we dug up while making the film.
We released four artifacts this week, focusing on the candidates’ development from fledgling college students into emerging leaders.
Where do the artifacts fit into the arc of their lives? What can they tell us about who Barack Obama and Mitt Romney really are — and how they compare with each other?
We’ve asked a small group of the country’s leading journalists covering the candidates to discuss these questions, and assess what we might learn from the week’s collection of artifacts (see Artifact 1, Artifact 2, Artifact 3, Artifact 4). See the thread below for a full list of our panelists.
The conversation will begin below at approximately 11:30 am, and continue throughout the afternoon.
