PBS WINS 3 WGA AWARDS FOR OUTSTANDING DOCUMENTARY FILMS

**UPDATED** March 9, 2026; Arlington, VA – Following an impressive 11 nominations for its acclaimed documentary programming, PBS was honored with three major wins at the 2026 Writers Guild Awards.

In the Documentary Screenplay category, the top honor went to "2,000 Meters to Andriivka" from the Oscar®-winning team behind FRONTLINE and The Associated Press.

FRONTLINE also led the Documentary Script – Current Events category with a win for "Trump's Power & Rule of Law." AMERICAN EXPERIENCE secured victory in the Documentary Script – Other Than Current Events category for "Forgotten Hero: Walter White and the NAACP," rounding out a successful evening. 

The 2026 Writers Guild Awards were livestreamed on Sunday, March 8, from the Edison Ballroom in New York.

PBS is proud to bring these acclaimed films to audiences and are honored by the Writers Guild of America’s recognition. Most of these award-winning documentaries are available to stream now on PBS.org and the PBS App.
