January 28, 2026; Arlington, VA – PBS was honored with an impressive 11 nominations for the 2026 Writers Guild Awards, with its acclaimed documentary programming across multiple categories.
PBS stands out with nominations in the Documentary Screenplay category for 2,000 METERS TO ANDRIIVKA from the Oscar®-winning team behind FRONTLINE and The Associated Press, and WHITE WITH FEAR, premiering this spring on PBS.
Across television, streaming, and news categories, PBS dominated the Documentary Script – Current Events category, with all four nominations going to FRONTLINE films. PBS also led the Documentary Script – Other Than Current Events category, earning four nominations for AMERICAN EXPERIENCE films, with a fifth nomination going to Matter of Mind: My Alzheimer’s, an INDEPENDENT LENS film.
The 2026 Writers Guild Awards will be presented on Sunday, March 8, during concurrent ceremonies in Los Angeles at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE and in New York at the Edison Ballroom.
