In what is generally a very class-conscious society, Cairo's cafés often feature a diverse mix of clientele. Commonly you'll see a businessman in a suit in conversation with a worker in a galabiyya (the traditional cotton man's robe and universal hallmark of the lower classes) -- an occurrence you just don't see here.
