They're like lattés in Seattle or bagels in New York. In Cairo, you can't turn a corner without coming across an 'ahwa -- or three or four. The city has some 30,000 coffeehouses. Just stroll down a street and listen for cues -- the emphatic "clack, clack!" of of dominoes, the persistent rattle of backgammon, the shouting din of a hot card game.
