Not many crops can survive in the yellow and red sands of Sand Ridge State Forest in Forest City, Illinois. But prairie grass, pines and cacti love it! The forest is open all day, every day and with more than 55 miles of marked trails, there’s plenty of opportunities to enjoy it. Recreation options include hunting, horseback riding, camping, hiking and snowmobiling.
