"Yes," his friend Hassan Mohamed says. "We need you to support a coalition of Arab states who will work with the Iraqi people until they elect somebody. They will know how to work with them because they are Arabs, not U.S. soldiers whose job it is to kill them."

For Mohamed Mahmoud, things are even simpler: "Just pull out. Let them work it out amongst themselves. The Sunni, Shi'ia and Kurds, they will all be able to work it out without your help."
