Clip: Special | 3m 51s | Video has closed captioning.

New York City poet Quincy Troupe says his life was changed forever when he first heard the music of Miles Davis. Troupe says he hears the lines of poems as music and he hears the words as notes. Troupe’s love of music informs this performance in the year 2000 from the NewsNight program on Twin Cities PBS. Troupe is accompanied while reading by musician Douglas Ewart.
