In 2008 Minnesota’s Robert Bly was named our state’s first poet laureate. The honor capped a long career as a poet, writer, and translator. As he starts his tenth decade, Bly is still a literary force. In 1989 TPT produced a special on Bly and the mythopoetic men’s movement he was championing. In this TPT special Bly read his poem “My Father at Eighty-Six.”
