Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship- The concept for historic places came out of expanding storytelling.
When I was doing news reporting, you know, it was short, a minute 30 was the story.
And so I wanted to do longer format, and I always loved history going to San Diego State.
I took a Chicano studies class and I fell in love with history.
And so 20 years or so later is when, you know, we decided to come up with this idea of historic places and doing local history.
And it has turned out fantastic.
People love the show, they love the areas that we visit, they wanna know more.
They're curious to learn about new sites, people who were here, you know, thousands of years, like the first people, or you know, historic sites like Victorian Homes in downtown or in Bankers Hill.
So the concept came out of a passion for me to tell stories in a different form, different format, more information, more facts, and allow people to follow us on this journey of visiting a local historic site and everything that you would learn from that historic site, who built the home, who lived there, you know, what happened when they were there?
What did they accomplish?
And so it's been a great experience and I'm so glad that we came up with this concept of doing history and showcasing local historic sites.
