The reason I disagree, is because of all the news I discover through other outlets (international, internet)that the big 3 won't report on. An example of course being, the major FCC decision june 2nd. Where were they in reporting this huge decision and the implications?

The "media" is ANTI BLACK. The "media" presents the "news", from the perspective of a WHITE PERSON, WHO BENEFITS FROM WHITE SKIN PREVILEGES, in U.S. society. The "media" "speaks to" the interests and caters to a "white perspective" of the world, in general.

I generally believe that the big 3 and CNN do there best to provide the public with objective and unbiased reporting. However, my fear is that media consolidations will make it increasingly difficult for stations to air reports which might adversly affect their bottom lines.
Lastly, I appreciated tonight's broadcast. It was well concieved, thought provoking, and informative.
Please produce more programs like this. Not the entire viewing public in American is enamored with Fear Factor, Jerry Springer, and the Simpsons.

FOX NEWS, MSNBC, CNN, and CNBC all have an agenda to put as many neo conservatives in our government as possible, and then profit from their control over the government in paying back their news supporters with legislation.

... public broadcasting as bad as corporate media

Not only do I not have high confidence in the corporate media... with shallow, softball "documentaries" like this last FlashPointAmerica I'm losing any hope that public media can come though. Where were the REAL critics of media consolidation and collusion with power such as Edward Herman and Noam Chomsky? PBS/NPR is no different from the corporate media in denying airtime to figures from the political Left. Nor does it have the courage to challenge the Neanderthal Right in the US. Compare this cowardice to that to the more independent BBC.

Your program tonight (9/16)did not address the sellout of media to the Bush Administration. Why not?

When I see reporters "embedded" with our troops in Iraq, I begin to feel that the government is using the media to express its viewpoint. In Viet Nam, the reporters seemed to be sent there to get the "real" story. I don't trust anything having to do with our present government and believe they are manipulating the news. The fact that they are allowing large corporations to buy up smaller ones leads to an old-fashioned monopoly. Years ago, we knew that monopolies were bad. Now the government doesn't seem to care. They're just supporting corporations' rights to get richer. How does that help the U. S. consumer or news listener/viewer?

How can any one believe in FOX news, or in MSNBC's "Scarborough Country", O'Reilly clone?
The problem is $!
