 Fibromyalgia Patient Covington, KY
I am 45 and have had Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue for 16 years. I have worked for 23 years straight. I have no social life. The little energy I have is used to hold down a job and keep a roof over my head. I sleep and work and sleep and work and on my off days do laundry and as much of my personal resposibilities as possible, which most of the time I don't get done. What a way to live ! I don't "look" sick so I get very little understanding from Dr.'s and people in general. There is so much in this wonderful world that I want to experience but I can't. I am so grateful I have no husband or family because I could not take care of them the way I would want to. In order to get disability I must be off work one year before applying and will most likely get turned down at least once. A single person cannot take one year off work. I have had to go to lower paying positions because I can not handle the stress of higher paying jobs. I have no energy to fight the system. Someday I guess I will just fall down in the street and die.
