 Melissa Lawler Rapid City, SD
I am 41 years old and have been living with Fibromyalgia my entire life. I was diagnosed at the age of 19 with what was then called fibrocitis. When I was a little girl I would have severe pains in my legs which my mother would tell me were "growing pains" since then those "growing pains" have turned into constant agonizing pain that covers my entire body. I have muscle spasms in my legs. I have had a headache every day for the last four years. Sometimes my headaches are so severe that I cannot see or speak. I have irritable bowel syndrome. I have chronic cystitis. I have been prescribed anti-depressants, anti-inflammatory, anti-cholinergics, narcotics, muscle relaxants, TENS units, trigger point injections, epidural anesthesia all to no avail. I honestly do not know how much longer I can continue to live in this much pain.
