Karl, OR Strongly Agree

... important to recognize ...

January 28,2004

And, I respect the choice of others to engage in their day without organized religion. It is important to recognize that people often have faith but not religion.

Sandra Str, ME Agree

... We can all be moral ...

January 28,2004

I AM A BUDDHIST AND FEEL A PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY TO BE THOUGHTFUL,KIND AND COMPASSIONATE , I BELIEVE THAT IT IS A FALSE BARRIER THAT SETS PEOPLE AGAINST EACH OTHER THAT TRYS TO SET ONE RELIGION UP AS '"THE ONE THE ONLY TRUTH". We can all be moral beings without belonging to a particular church. Government HAS NO BUSINESS FAVORING ONE RELIGION OVER ANOTHER, STATE AND CHURCH MUST BE SEPERATEBIN ORDERNTO TRULY HAVE A FREE SOCIETY.

Lindsey, OR Strongly Disagree

... school and God need to be separated ...

January 28,2004

I am an athiest, I have been since i was about 12. in high school it always bothered me that we had to stand for God bless America and say the pledge of allegience (at least the part that say "...under God...)I think school and God need to be separated.

Brenda Ada, OR Strongly Disagree

... somebody needs to tell the truth ...

January 28,2004

Most educated people I know do NOT believe in gods or eternal life. What rubish. However, we do think it controls the masses, provides a military willing to die, etc. Perhaps it's necessary...and perhaps it's a tool...but somebody needs to tell the truth: many of us secretly DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF IT.

Christophe, AK Strongly Disagree

... do not want others ideas forced ...

January 28,2004

As American Indian, I do not believe in a god. I do not want others ideas forced on me anymore, just as I dont force mine on others.

Roger Barb, CA Strongly Disagree

... faith is not associated ...

January 28,2004

Is this a nation for and of all faiths or is this a Christian nation where others are merely guests and second class citizens?

I do make most of my decisions based on my faith but my faith is not associated with organized religion nor does it recognized deities. Your poll leaves out those like me which most statistics place at nearly 10%.

Porter, GA Strongly Disagree

... one way to do that ...

January 28,2004

God plays a role in all of our daily lives, although many don't know it. Don't confuse religion and church, with actually seeking a relationship with God. There is only one way to do that, "and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us".
The way is made known in the word. Jesus is the way.

Jo, OR Strongly Disagree

... a huge nuisance ...

January 28,2004

I find most organized religions to be a huge nuisance, designed to manipulate sad, fearful and desperate people. I am an atheist, but people who are religious seem determined not to accept my right to live religion-free as a secular citizen.

Ray, LA Disagree

... take literally the bible ...

January 28,2004

I believe moral values are developed from many places (religion, family values and even TV shows that explores moral situations). It scares me when supposedly rational people would take literally the bible and want to make laws to push their skewed beliefs on everyone else.

Delia, NM Strongly Agree

... freedom of choice ...

January 28,2004

"I strongly agree with the above statement and I wish to add, make no mistake there is a Heaven and there is a Hell. God gives me the choice of going to either place. I have a choice in America because God gives me the choice and I choose to keep God in America and in my life. God gives me freedom of choice. Take God out of America and there will be no America."

Nicole, CA Strongly Agree

... with all my heart ...

January 28,2004

I believe with all my heart in my heavenly father and Thank him daily for sending his son.

Jack, TX Strongly Agree

... Golden Rule is taught in church ...

January 28,2004

The Golden Rule is taught in church, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I believe this rule to be highly beneficial for myself and for society as a whole.

Jay, CA Strongly Agree

... we Turn are back on God ...

January 28,2004

If we Turn are back on God now we are in Big Trouble

Mickey, NV Strongly Agree

... cornerstone of life ...

January 28,2004

Religion should be the cornerstone of life. We aren't here on earth by some cosmic accident; we are here by God's design.

Alene, WA Strongly Disagree

... don't need to be religious ...

January 28,2004

You don't need to be religious to have strong moral values.

Todd Hitch, CA Strongly Agree

... the wave of popular sentiment ...

January 28,2004

Not only my beliefs but based upon the undeniable beliefs of the founding fathers of this country. Without the moral compass created by an understanding of Biblical teachings of right and wrong, the country will dive headlong into a morass of moral relativistic view where nothing is absolutely right or wrong, but based upon the wave of popular sentiment.

Sophia, CA Strongly Agree

... sense of integrity ...

January 28,2004

God allows a sense of integrity and comfort even when ours are just selfish, self-centered and just plain hateful. God allows you to love in spite of.

Ginger Joh, CO Agree

... WORD RELIGION IS MUCH OVER USED ...

January 28,2004

MY BELIEFS ARE BASED ON THE BIBLE ...THE WORD RELIGION IS MUCH OVER USED WHEN DISCUSSING THIS TOPIC.

Dina, CA Strongly Agree

... believe the Bible ...

January 28,2004

My beliefs come from what I believe the Bible says about marriage and family, but also what our founding fathers believed which was that this country is based on the hope and faith in God.

Pete, WI Strongly Disagree

... get religion out of the classroom ...

January 28,2004

There is no heaven, hell, or god, and there are no miracles or angels. God is a figment of human imagination and a major cause of dissent in our world. Let's get religion out of the classroom and out of Government. Instead, let's educate people in subjects that really do matter... to attain a better understood and peaceful world.
